The very rare race ticket, shown above, allowed entry to Hereford Races in 1867. The Stewards at this time were His Grace the Duke of Hamilton, Rt Hon Lord Bateman, Colonel A Meyrick and Captain Machell. The main two day meeting was held on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th October 1867, with the principal races being the Herefordshire Stakes on the first day and the Shobdon Cup on the second day. |
